Craving an Idea

After my graphic design professor told us she got hit by a car before her portfolio show. I had an idea! I've been wanting to do more packaging design over the years and I've been craving dim sum lately. If you don't know what dim sum is, it's basically chinese tapas, but for brunch. It's a bunch of small steamed dishes like dumplings, baos, rice porridge, etc. IT'S SO GOOD! Since the food is very savory, you start and end with an unlimited amount of tea. ANYWAYS. I decided to combine my craving of Dim Sum with Packaging Design. Why? Usually when you have leftover dim sum, they just put it in foam containers that are not microwavable or easy to take home or cute. You always need a bag and they're all individually packaged. My solution is to make it easy for people to take home or take on the go, with their hot tea so they can still get the full experience outside of the restaurant. As of right now I'm planning to create a brand for a Dim Sum restaurant that I created and infographics on the outside either about the food or how to order. Now the next step is sketching this out and figuring out how to do this and finish this by May O.O

  3. I've never had dim sum before, but the way you describe it makes it sound like it would be delicious! I might just have to hunt some down to try it!
